SAFETeen at the Erasmus Days in Heraklion
The Regional Directorate of Primary and Secondary Education of Crete, successfully organized for the fifth consecutive year the Erasmus Days, on October 21st, at the European School of Heraklion. The event attracted schools from all over Crete, with the participants exchanging experiences and sharing the good practices that follow the European programs.
Areti Vouraki, on behalf of the European programs of the Regional Directorate of Primary and Secondary Education of Crete, emphasized the importance of the Erasmus programs in the educational community. Known for fostering mobility, cooperation and mutual understanding between different cultures, Erasmus+ programmes contribute in finding solutions to the problems faced by European school networks. The new Erasmus 2021-2027 is focused on developing tools that help schools tackle common challenges while encouraging innovation and creativity.
One of the programs presented at the Erasmus Days was SAFETeen. This program focuses on the creation of educational material aimed at diagnosing and dealing with risks for students, in order to prevent accidents. As mrs Vouraki mentions, the project aims to create new tools to support students in making safe decisions, especially in road safety:
