SAFETeen at a conference for special educational needs in Heraklion
On March 30, 2024, the SAFETeen project was presented to a large number of teachers, psychologists, social workers, and other special education professionals who were at the Galaxy Hotel in Heraklion, Crete, for the needs of the 2nd Panhellenic Conference “Special Educational Needs: family- school – adulthood – community”. The conference was co-organized by the Health & Road Safety Laboratory of the Hellenic Mediterranean University and the General and Special Education Studies & Research Institute (IMEGEE) and was intended to discuss the new developments in the field of special education and learning difficulties, to present innovative methods to support for families, modern tools and good practices from the field of formal, non-formal and informal education.
Mr. Vassilis Kontogiannis, executive of the Institute of Technology and Research (ITE) presented the SAFETeen project in his presentation entitled “Development of Skills to enhance the perception of risk and safe decisions among teenagers (Road safety)”.
Among other things, in his presentation, Mr. Kontogiannis referred to the goals of the project, the work packages and its expected products. He also invited the attendees to be actively involved in the activities of the project through the school units they work, and to promote the project through their own professional networks.
