SAFETeen at the Erasmus Days in Heraklion

The Regional Directorate of Primary and Secondary Education of Crete, successfully organized for the fifth consecutive year the Erasmus Days, on October 21, at the European School of Heraklion. The event attracted schools from all over Crete, with the participants exchanging experiences and sharing the good practices that follow the European programs.

Areti Vouraki, responsible for the European programs of the Regional Directorate of of Primary and Secondary Education of Crete, emphasized the importance of the Erasmus programs in the educational community. Known for fostering mobility, cooperation and mutual understanding between different cultures, Erasmus makes a substantial contribution to finding solutions to the problems faced by European school networks. The new Erasmus 2021-2027  is focused on developing tools that help schools tackle common challenges while encouraging innovation and creativity.

One of the programs presented tat the Erasmus Days is SAFETeen. This program focuses on the creation of educational material aimed at diagnosing and dealing with risks for students, in order to prevent accidents. This is an important effort that enhances safety education by preparing students to respond to potential hazards safely and sensitively.

An innovative program for youth road safety

Maria Papadakaki, president of the Social Work Department of ELMEPA, speaking to the fonien.gr and presented the SAFETeen Project. This project is funded by Erasmus Plus and aims to create new tools to support students in making safe decisions, especially in road safety.
